Annual Washington’s Encampment at Skippack

September 26 @ 10:00 am - 5:00 pm

Join the Skippack Historical Society for our annual Washington’s Encampment, a living history event that brings the American Revolution to life.

We gather at the historic 1720s Indenhofen Farmstead, a site that witnessed the Continental Army’s presence during the fall of 1777. Skippack played a vital role as a stepping stone between the Battles of Brandywine and Germantown, and General George Washington and his troops passed through the area three times—one of which included an encampment along Skippack Creek from September into October 1777.

What to experience during the day:
• Living history demonstrations
• Revolutionary War interpretation
• Hands-on activities for all ages
• Stories of Skippack’s role in the American Revolution
• A chance to explore the historic Indenhofen Farmstead

This family-friendly event offers a unique opportunity to step back in time and learn how our local landscape shaped a pivotal moment in American history.

Come for a short visit or spend the day—everyone is welcome.
