Washington’s Encampment at Skippack

Saturday, September 27th  10:00am-5:00pm

This is our  “Living History Event.” Re-enactors of the Continental Army will set up camp, drill and fire muskets commemorating when in 1777, 10,000 soldiers camped in Skippack before the Battle of Germantown.  There will be a one-room school presentation, Colonial kiln, tin punch, butter making, candle making and Lego activities.  There will be loom and spinning demonstrations, along with corn shelling, apple butter making, treadmill presentations, and an afternoon dulcimer concert.  Tours of our historic IndenHoffen house and barn museums, along with a hearth cooking demonstration in the summer kitchen, relate the local history of the Skippack area.

Schedules indicating specific times will be sent out a few days before the event. Come and experience some of our local history. The event takes place at the corner of Skippack Pike and Evansburg Road   ( across from the Post Office )
